Women travelling for abortion care in Europe: results from a multi-disciplinary international research project
Why do many women travel in Western Europe to seek abortion care, including from and within countries with relatively liberal abortion laws? How do these women experience abortion travel? Our multi-disciplinary research project, funded by the European Research Council, aims to answer these questions by exploring women‘s experiences with legal, procedural and social barriers to access safe and legal abortions and abortion travel. We present data collected in the UK, the Netherlands, Spain, and Italy during between 2017 and 2019.
